Semafone wins European Call Centre Award - Product of the Year

The new payment security solution from Semafone, which guarantees PCI compliance for call centres, has won the best product category in the European Call Centre Awards.

Semafone offers an intelligent solution to both fraud risk and PCI compliance by ensuring that no payment information is heard by the agent, or stored by the company.

It works by allowing customers to key their card details directly onto their telephone keypad. The DTMF technology sends the information to the payment portal, without the agent hearing anything other than unidentifiable tones. Call recordings pick up only these tones, thus ensuring the company is compliant with PCI regulations.

The technology means there is no need to transfer the customer to an impersonal IVR system, so the call centre agent maintains voice contact with the customer. This in turn ensures the level of customer service is maintained and that the transaction will be completed without a hitch.

Semafone was announced as the winner at a gala dinner on 21st September at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole.
